Dear Emma Watson,
We really love your work, particularly with UN Women and sustainable fashion but also The Bling Ring.
Our names are Gabrielle Murphy and Megan O’Malley and no we’re not an Irish folk duo. We are two friends walking across Southeast Asia for a year in search of the good fashion stories. We call ourselves Walk Sew Good.
If you’ve never heard of us before, which would be surprising since we’re a pretty big deal and have 52 followers on Twitter, let us tell you a little bit more. Our project aims to share the stories of people and businesses creating fashion in positive and sustainable ways. We want to empower people out there in the world to support these brands as an alternative to the dastardly fast fashion options that are so prevalent in the world today. We also want to get people talking and asking questions about where their clothes come from and how they are made. We want a lot.
To date we have walked over 1100km and have met and filmed interviews with so many incredible people. We’d like to invite you to come and walk with us for a section of the trip. You’re a strong and passionate advocate for ethical fashion and we’d love to have you along for a chat. We’ve been carrying a cardboard cut out of your head (in a non creepy way) to see what adventures we might get up to if you were to join us. The three of us look like quite the team. I hope you agree.
Please let us know when you’re available and we’ll let you know where we’ll be. We look forward to walking with you.
Peace, love and hiking boots,
Gab and Megan xx
We think you are a bloody awesome feminist, tits and all.
If you are not Emma Watson please share this letter with everyone you know. All of the people. And if your dog has Facebook share it with him too.
